Ivo Loyola

Ivo Loyola is interested in analyzing the possible forms of existence in places centered around escapism: from artificial paradises and national touristic locations to the virtual worlds of video-games. With an often ironic perspective the artist seeks to create a point of view where the protagonism escapes from an anthropocentric control, enabling objects and non human entities to express a life of their own. His work is found on the intersection of moving images with sculpture and installation, creating an atmospheric presentation that questions the social and economic structures of our society.
He studied at Mexico’s National Arts School ENPEG “La Esmeralda” and his work has been shown at Mexico City, Querétaro, California and Madrid.
